Our beach club is open every day from 11am to 7pm, at kilometre 8.5 on Tulum Beach Road. It's open to everyone, staying with us or not. There's no minimum spend, towels are included and parking is free. That's most of what people want to know before they drive down, so here's the rest.
Where we are
We're at Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila KM 8.5, in the hotel zone (Zona Hotelera), with the beach right in front of us. Keep heading south on the same road and you reach the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. Tulum International Airport (TQO) is 30 to 40 minutes away by car, and Cancun International Airport (CUN) is about two hours.
Parking is free, so you can drive in and leave the car for the day.
Do you need a day pass?
No. We don't sell a day pass and there's no minimum consumption at the beach club. You come in, find a sunbed or a poof on the sand, and order as you go. Towel service is included.
The one exception: beach beds for UMi Tribe pin holders carry a minimum consumption. The UMi Tribe is our community membership, with 20% off stays and services (co-produced events excluded) and free entry to our events.
Reservations aren't required. If you want to be sure of a spot, especially at the weekend, message us on WhatsApp at +52 984 205 6008.
What it costs to spend the day
You pay for what you order, in Mexican pesos. A few prices from the current drinks menu:
| Drink | Price (MXN) |
|---|---|
| Corona, Modelo or Modelo Negra | 130 |
| Margarita, paloma, mezcalita, mojito, piña colada | 340 |
| Aperol spritz or Campari spritz | 340 |
| Hugo spritz | 350 |
| Signature cocktails: Balam Ha, Flamingo, Tulum Tiki, Península | 360 |
The signature list is where we'd start. The Balam Ha is Mezcal Amarás cupreata with chile liqueur, pineapple, ginger beer and lemon, so it has some heat. The Flamingo is Patrón Reposado, Campari and watermelon oleo-saccharum with sparkling water: lighter, and good at 4pm. The Tulum Tiki contains almonds, worth knowing if you have an allergy.
For food, the menu is home-made dishes built around Mexican flavours and fresh seafood. Our restaurant is open from 8am to 11pm, so you can stay on for dinner after the beach club closes at 7pm.
Weekdays vs weekends
The beach is calm during the week and livelier at the weekend. That's the honest difference.
- Weekdays: quiet sand, a book, a long lunch. Wednesday is our Volleyball Club, all day, with 2-for-1 classic cocktails. Thursday at 8am there's a beachfront workout class, open to all levels.
- Weekends: UMi Beach Days. Every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm there's a live DJ set on the sand. Come earlier if you want a quiet hour first.
- Thursday to Sunday: fire-grilled fish is served by the beach.
We post the weekly program on Instagram at @umitulum.
Bringing the dog
Dogs are welcome. The beach club has its own dog menu: chicken, rice and vegetables, or a vegetarian rice and vegetables, 60 MXN each.
Staying the night instead
If one day turns into wanting more, we have 14 suites above the beach, six of them rooftop suites with private terraces. Breakfast is included with every suite and is served at our restaurant from 8am. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out by 11am.
